8th Annual Slocum Challenge Regatta

Location: Slocum River Estuary, Dartmouth, Massachusetts
The regatta is open to racing shells, open-water shells, kayaks, canoes, surf-skis, traditional rowing boats, whaleboats, pilot gigs, and stand-up paddleboards, with separate age-categories for competitors under 20, over 50, and over 65, all in Men’s, Women’s and “Mixed” (co-ed) divisions.
As always, the emphasis of the regatta will be on good fun and enjoyment of the scenic Slocum River. A light post-race lunch will be provided at the Awards Ceremony, immediately following the races at the Lloyd Center’s headquarters (430 Potomska Road, Dartmouth).
For guaranteed acceptance, Entry Applications, (will be available soon at the Lloyd Center and rowing, kayak and canoe centers throughout New England), must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17th (25% surcharge for entries received after 5:00 p.m., September 17th). All competitors whose Entry Application are received by that date will receive a complimentary “Slocum Challenge” long-sleeve T-shirt, on sale to the public (while supplies last), on race-day, for $12.50.
Order and starting-times of all races will be finalized after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19th and posted online at www.lloydcenter.org on Friday, September 20th. No entry can be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19th. Entry fees are $20 per entry, plus $10 per competitor and are not refundable.
All proceeds of the Slocum Challenge will go to benefit the program services of the Lloyd Center for the Environment.
