Paskamansett Bird Club Fall Bird Walk at the Lloyd Center

Meeting Place: Lloyd Center lower parking lot

The Lloyd Center’s connection to the Paskamansett Bird Club goes back many years, and we are happy to again be a part of their bird walk series during the fall migration here at the Lloyd Center property.

Our 82 acres offer a varied landscape “where Land meets Sea” (our historical slogan) including both forest and wetland habitats. Nearly all bird groups in the region may be present at any given time, and fall is a great time to bird!

For those unfamiliar with the Center’s property, be prepared for some hilly terrain as we venture between birding locations; dress appropriately for weather conditions.

Any questions, please email Jamie at jbogart@lloydcenter.org. For further information about the Paskamansett Bird Club, including other walk options, please visit www.paskamansettbirdclub.com.

Wednesday Bird Walk at the Lloyd Center (August 28, 2024)

Attention bird enthusiasts, including beginner to more advanced birders! If you like a nice variety of bird species over a relatively small area, complete with an intricate complexity of forest, wetland, and open landscape habitats, without having to travel great distances, these walks at the Lloyd Center in South Dartmouth may be for you.

The Lloyd Center “Wednesday Bird Walks’ return just as the waterbird migration is kicking into high gear. The forests are active with songbirds in their late summer molts, and fledges from the season that have long since left the nest, have been actively searching for food at our feeder station.

The estuaries are particularly active as waders congregate, ospreys dive for the summer runs of fish, and shorebirds pass through. While the coastal wetland species are the highlight in August, we will enter the forest as well, so bug spray is a necessity. Come see the action as the birds are on the move!
