Koko – the Lloyd Center’s resident Screech Owl

Support the Lloyd Center for the Environment at Barnes & Noble in Dartmouth, MA. In an effort to raise funds for their environmental science programs held in schools in New Bedford, Fall River, Dartmouth, and throughout Massachusetts, the Lloyd Center is working together with Barnes & Noble Booksellers by hosting a Bookfair at the Barnes & Noble Dartmouth Towne Center store.

The Lloyd Center for the Environment will hold several events and programs at Barnes & Noble during the Bookfair on Saturday, March 19 from 12pm to 4pm. These events will include a presentation of the Center’s resident screech owl Koko.  This up-close owl encounter will be followed by stories, other animal interactions and a scavenger hunt. This fun, family event is free and open to the public.

On Saturday, March 19, Barnes & Noble will contribute a percentage of every sale made by customers identifying themselves as supporters of the Lloyd Center for the Environment. Vouchers will be available online at the Lloyd Center’s website www.lloydcenter.org, in hard copy at the Lloyd Center for the Environment, or by simply mentioning your choice to support the Lloyd Center when you check-out at the register.  You can also support the Lloyd Center by shopping online at www.bn.com/bookfairs from Saturday, March 19 to Thursday, March 24 and include the Bookfair voucher ID #11805728 on the payment page during checkout.

The donation made by Barnes & Noble from our Bookfair will help the Lloyd Center in two ways. First, a percentage of Bookfair sales will underwrite the Center’s environmental science programs. Second, the Lloyd Center staff will be able to create a wish list of titles to enhance their library collection. Bookfair supporters may choose books from an in-store wish list display to purchase for the Center’s library.

Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Graduation are just around the corner.  Please help support the Lloyd Center by shopping at Barnes & Noble in the Dartmouth Towne Center located at 392 State Road in Dartmouth on Saturday, March 19th by mentioning the Lloyd Center or shopping online at www.bn.com/bookfairs.  For more information, contact Lloyd Center Outreach Specialist Jennifer Wimmer at jen@lloydcenter.org, 508-990-0505 x14.
