Landscaped Butterfly Garden Returns at Lloyd Center!

A big THANK YOU to Lloyd Center volunteer Jay Carvalho of Case Consulting!!

The Lloyd Center staff is ecstatic and grateful for all the work that Jay performed at the Center last weekend.

During external renovations to the Lloyd Center’s main building, the grounds and butterfly garden took a bit of a beating, leaving lots of landscaping and cleanup work to be done.

This past weekend, the Center was fortunate to have Jay volunteer his time and equipment to give the property some much needed attention. Jay graded along the backside of the main building, installed three granite steps that were left over from the LBCTM (Living Building Challenge) building, installed three more left over granite steps in the butterfly garden and repaired the existing butterfly garden stone retaining wall that was removed during construction on the main building.

In addition, with the help of Lloyd Center Research Associate Jamie Bogart, and Lloyd Center Education/Outreach Specialist Ashley Gesner, Jay also erected a stone retaining wall using native stone.

WOW! What a difference! Come spring time, the garden will receive a spruce up and be ready for our visiting butterflies and guests.
