Lloyd Center for the Environment Announces Myrna W. Hall as Chair of the Board

exhibits-viewscapeDartmouth, MA. – The Lloyd Center for the Environment is pleased to announce the unanimous election of Myrna W. Hall to Chair of the Board of Directors. George R. Nelson, M.D., Chairman of the Board from 2013 to November 2016, has stated that, “His efforts on behalf of the Lloyd Center were one of the most gratifying experiences of his life.”  George’s wisdom, guidance and commitment to the Lloyd Center will certainly be missed. George chaired the board during a critical period and helped to assure a strong future for the organization.  In response to Myrna’s election as the new Chair George commented that he “could think of no one more qualified to turn the reins over to than Myrna.”

A Member of the Board of Directors since 2008, Myrna is very familiar with the operations of the Lloyd Center and as Chair, will assist in the governance of the organization through its 16-member Board of Directors. An active Board Member, Myrna sits on the Center’s current “Transforming a Legacy” Capital Campaign Steering Committee as well as other Lloyd Center committees. 

Vice-president of Development and Philanthropy at Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island for 15 years, Myrna brings an abundance of experience to the position. 

Myrna graduated from Saint Mary College, Notre Dame, IN cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama, and minors in Theology and Philosophy. In addition, she studied English and French Graduate Studies at Boston College and Louisiana State University.

Previous non-profit experience includes: Board Member of Children’s Friend and Service, Providence RI; Board Member and President of Women & Infants Hospital Auxiliary, Providence RI; Board Member, Board of Trustees Member, and volunteer at Community Preparatory School, Providence, RI. Civic accomplishments include tutoring at Community Preparatory School in Providence RI, Dorcas Place (Adult Literacy) in Providence RI, and Our Sisters School in New Bedford MA.
