Lloyd Center Welcomes New Board Members

On Thursday, April 28th, the Lloyd Center for the Environment hosted their Annual Meeting at the North Dartmouth Library where three new members were welcomed to the Board of Directors.

In addition, the following board members were unanimously voted in as Officers at the Board Meeting that immediately followed the Annual Meeting: Otto W. Schleinkofer III, C.P.A. Chair; Suzanne W. Prescott, Co-Vice President; Jonathan S. Carvalho, Co-Vice President; Daphne F. Siegal, Clerk; and Danielle Nihill, C.P.A., Treasurer.

Joining the Board of Directors are Whitt Barnard, Michael Gagne, and Winifred (Winnie) Phyfe.

Whitt Barnard
Whitt Barnard is a business development consultant and formed Sawtooth Capital Partners in 2007, which facilitated equity investment opportunities for several private equity firms. His role was to identify, refer, and introduce investment opportunities to the firms, focusing on a variety of consumer product sectors. Before forming Sawtooth, he provided financial advisory services for approximately 25 years. He was a co-founder and managing director of investment banking firm Stonebridge Associates from 1987 to 2007, and also worked as a senior officer at the Bank of Boston and as an investment banker and investment manager prior to that. He lives in South Dartmouth with his wife Susan Rogers, and has been involved with the Lloyd Center for several years.

Michael Gagne
Michael Gagne is a longtime municipal executive who is currently the interim Chief Financial Officer for the City of New Bedford. Before that, he served as Town Administrator for the Town of Mattapoisett from 2009 until his retirement in 2020, and as Executive Administrator for the Town of Dartmouth from 1986 to 2009. He has extensive experience in managing all aspects of town government, including creating and implementing fiscal management plans, negotiating labor contracts, managing human resources offices, and leading economic development projects. He lives in Dartmouth with his wife Laurie, and served on the Lloyd Center Board of Directors for several years in the 1980’s.

Winifred Phyfe
Winnie Phyfe is a former Executive Director of The Association of Teachers in New York City, and also worked in advertising, at the Spence School, and at Rockefeller Family & Associates, in New York City. She has served as President of the Emma Willard School Alumnae Association, President of Sweet Briar College of New York Alumni Club, and President of the Little Garden Club of Rye, NY. She has lived in South Dartmouth since returning from eight years living in Hong Kong. She is a member of the Garden Club of Buzzards Bay and a member of Saint Aidan’s Chapel Corporation. She worked part time at the Lloyd Center before the pandemic, and has volunteered often, including her significant volunteer contributions to the Clambake Committee.
