March is Lloyd Center’s Annual Membership Month!

March is the Lloyd Center’s Annual Membership Month, and we invite you to join or renew your membership and continue supporting the programs and research that make the Center such an important resource for our community!

Each year, the Lloyd Center educates approximately 10,000 students through school programs, field trips, and science initiatives, introducing young people to the coastal ecosystems and biodiversity of New England. Your membership helps make these hands-on learning experiences possible, and helps ensure that spring field trips, summer programs, and year-round environmental education continue to serve students and families across our region.

As we enter the spring season, the Center is once again preparing for one of our busiest times of year. In just a few weeks, our Coastal Field Studies program will welcome students from schools across the region to the Center for outdoor field trips and environmental exploration. For many of these students, their visit provides a first opportunity to study marshes, forests, and wildlife habitats alongside our educators.

We have also expanded opportunities for the 9-12 year old students through our summer Coastal Studies program, adding an additional week so participants can spend more time investigating the Biodiversity of New England (new program) and conducting field-based environmental research.

Across the property, the signs of spring are already beginning to appear—migratory birds returning, marsh grasses emerging, snow melting, and students soon to arrive to witness these seasonal changes firsthand.

Membership support plays a vital role in sustaining these activities. It helps the Lloyd Center continue its environmental education programs, maintain the trails and habitats that are open dawn to dusk free of charge, and support the research and monitoring that helps protect local ecosystems.
