Please Consider Giving to the Lloyd Center’s 2024 Annual Appeal!

LBC Grey WaterThis has been a monumental year at the Lloyd Center! Our new Welcome Center, constructed by students from the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and built to Living Building Challenge™ specifications, opened to the public.

Even while under construction, our Education Team taught more than 10,000 students, and our research department monitored endangered local species.

With increased operating costs, your gift means even more this year than ever before. Renowned Lloyd Center programs are in higher demand now more than ever, yet there is a critical funding need on all fronts, as local school budgets and funding for environmental issues cannot keep pace with what is needed.

The Lloyd Center is uniquely positioned within the community as a long-standing and trusted source of quality environmental science education and a hub of knowledge related to local biodiversity. Much of our work is not visible, as our educators are actively in the schools and our researchers are in the field; however due to your support, experiences like these are possible:

  • “Thank you for all you have done to make this an awesome experience for my daughter.  She loves nature (especially the ocean) and so this has been a wonderful educational experience for her.  But also, thank you for creating a place where a kid who has really struggled can feel welcomed and supported and truly seen.” Summer Program Parent
  • “It’s so nice to see them be able to see what we’ve been learning about in the classroom in a real-world setting.” Fourth Grade Teacher
  • “My favorite part of the trip was the forest because I got to see the birds behind the wood wall and I got to see a snail shell.” Third Grade Student

Your donation directly supports education and research opportunities that otherwise could not be afforded by local schools, families, and community organizations.
