Take an Autumn Walk at the Lloyd Center
Autumn is a wonderful time to slow down and spend an hour outdoors. With cooler days and the season’s changing colors, a walk at the Lloyd Center offers an opportunity to step away from daily routines and pay closer attention to the natural world.
You don’t need to attend a scheduled program to enjoy a visit. Bring a friend, gather the family, or take a quiet walk on your own. Let curiosity set the pace rather than concentrating on how far you travel.
Along the way, pause and listen. A rustle in the leaves, a bird calling overhead, or movement beside a fallen log can draw your attention to something you might otherwise miss. Look closely at the textures of bark, the shapes of fallen leaves, and the small details that make each walk different.
For children, a simple outing can become an exercise in discovery. Invite them to find leaves of different colors, notice patterns, or describe the sounds around them. Leave natural objects where you find them and give wildlife plenty of space.
The Lloyd Center’s trails are free and open to the public from dawn to dusk every day. Although the main building remains closed during renovations, the grounds continue to welcome visitors.
This October, put a little time outdoors on your calendar. Wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather, and see what catches your attention!
