Thirty Dartmouth and Westport artists and artisans have teamed up for their fourth season open studio weekend–August 13 and 14 from 10 am to 5 pm. Consisting of some of the area’s premiere painters, ceramic artists, photographers, jewelers, woodworkers and others, the ART drive uniquely puts emphasis on a consistent and high level of professionalism and quality in some very unusual and dramatic studio settings. This year, for the first time, several of the Art Drive artists will have a guest artist exhibit with them.
Art Drive Artist’s Exhibit – Hosted by Adriance Furnituremakers at 288 Gulf Road in South Dartmouth, this exhibit will showcase works by all the Art Drive artists at the company’s furniture show room Saturday July 16 through September 5 (Labor day), open Tuesdays through Fridays, 10-4, Sat 1-4 and open both days on the Art Drive weekend. Visitors will be able to preview the wide variety of art that will be available at individual studios during the Art Drive weekend in August.
Look for 42 imaginative and colorful depictions of 4-foot-long striped bass, by local artists stationed outdoors along the Art Drive routes.
After last year’s very successful exhibit , Dartmouth and Westport high school art departments will again display outstanding student work at Cape Yachts’ South Wharf on Elm Street in Padanaram during the Art Drive weekend.
A percentage of sales during the Art Drive are donated by the individual artists to The Lloyd Center for the Environment, in Dartmouth.
