Traditional String Band Jam, led by Juliana Bernardi
On September 22, 2024, the Lloyd Center for the Environment hosted its fourth annual Music in the Woods, a benefit for Lloyd Center members. The day offered a perfect blend of live music, nature, and community engagement, set against a backdrop of breezy fall weather.
Musicians from the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra (NBSO) provided a captivating performance, filling the natural surroundings with beautiful orchestral sounds. Adding to the day’s musical diversity, Juliana Bernardi led the Traditional String Band Jam, engaging attendees with a lively display of folk and string melodies.
Guests enjoyed the crisp autumn air as they walked along the trails. The blend of fresh air and live performances made this outdoor event a unique celebration of both environmental appreciation and artistic expression.
The Lloyd Center ensured that no one went hungry, offering complimentary sandwiches, desserts, and drinks. These refreshments added a warm touch to the day, making it easy for attendees to relax and enjoy the music.
The event drew an enthusiastic crowd, reinforcing the Lloyd Center’s goal of bringing people closer to nature through engaging experiences. As one of the Center’s key events, Music in the Woods has become an annual highlight for both members and non-members alike, encouraging community members to embrace nature while supporting the Center’s mission.
