Wednesday Bird Walks at the Lloyd Center
Are you an avid birder, just getting started, or a nature enthusiast in general? Stop by for this walk held Wednesday mornings on the Lloyd Center property which offers a rich variety of habitats and bird life year- round. We will focus on birds and follow the activity, but we will spend some time on a featured trail each week.
In addition to bird species, participants will gain insight about other wildlife potentially encountered, the various habitat types on the property, including the trees and plants that comprise them, seasonal ecological processes impacting habitats and wildlife behavior, and landmarks that offer perspective on past human use of the landscape.
As a bonus, at the conclusion of these outings you’ll meet “Koko”, the Center’s Eastern Screech Owl, a very common but highly secretive night owl that one may never see in the wild.
For questions about these walks, please contact Jamie Bogart at jbogart@lloydcenter.org or leave a message at 508-990-0505, x23.
Special instructions: Participants should dress appropriately for weather conditions, wear footwear for light hiking along forested trails, and bring binoculars if possible.
