Program Descriptions
Coastal Adventures
Join us for this two-day exploration of our coastal habitats! This program includes a field trip to a barrier beach ecological site as we discover the unique coastlines of our region. Students will be engaged in a hands-on beach clean-up activity combined with a citizen/community science application to help fellow researchers and scientists. Students will get a chance to learn about coastal birds as well as different coastal habitats such as the salt marsh, estuary and maritime forest. Join us for a two day adventure-filled educational experience!
Freshwater in Action
Join us for this two-day exploration of freshwater in action! This program includes a field trip to a local body of freshwater as we discover the unique properties of water and aquatic ecosystems. Students will get an opportunity to explore and learn about our local drinking water sites as well as issues related to it. In addition, we will learn about different local freshwater fish species, their habitats and challenges. Students will also learn about an international perspective on the importance of freshwater in our ecosystems!
